The Working Group on Economy and Investments ("AGWI") was on 22 April 2026 established in Windhoek Founded on the statutes of the Forum of German-speaking Namibians ("FDN"), the group operates under the direction of the FDN board.

AGWI views itself as an advocate for the economic interests of Namibia and the German-speaking Namibian community, positioning itself as an economic partner to government regarding economic policy decisions. This involves participating in policy dialogues such as the recent public consultations on the Migration Bill where AGWI made constructive contributions.

Its goals include promoting the participation of German-speaking Namibians in economic policy, strengthening Namibia as an investment destination, expanding the Namibian-German economic dialogue and contributing to measures that offer Namibians in the diaspora the prospect of returning to Namibia. AGWI comprises

eleven (11) members who, on their private initiative, contribute their business-related experience and expertise through advocacy, public relations, events and facilitation.

Lapita Hashingola was elected Chairperson, while Phillip Theissen supports the group as Spokesperson. "I am delighted that, after a long preparatory phase, we have come together and established this group. We are aware of our civic responsibility and wish to contribute to the well-being of Namibia and its people through this voluntary work," says Lapita Hashingola.
