Youth Enterprise showcases Namibia's manufacturing potential
A youth-led manufacturing company in Rehoboth has earned recognition from the Hardap regional leadership for demonstrating how locally owned businesses can help stimulate industrial growth, create jobs and strengthen Namibia's manufacturing sector.
During a visit to NamTet Trading Enterprise CC on Thursday, Hardap Governor Riaan McNab toured the company's production facilities and received a briefing on its operations, achievements and future ambitions. Established as a 100% Namibian-owned enterprise, NamTet Trading Enterprise specialises in the manufacture of school and hostel furniture, farming equipment, engineering products and general welding works. The company uses locally sourced materials and employs Namibian workers, positioning itself as a contributor to domestic industrial development.
The company also stands out as one of only two powder-coating businesses operating in Namibia, underscoring its growing importance within the country's manufacturing industry.
Chief Executive Officer Riveno Alberts told the Governor that although the company has made significant progress, it continues to face challenges associated with expanding its operations. He said the business remains committed to creating employment opportunities for young Namibians while contributing to economic growth in the Hardap Region and beyond. The Governor said supporting locally owned businesses was essential to building a resilient economy, noting that youth entrepreneurs have an important role to play in driving industrialisation and employment creation.
The visit formed part of the Governor's continued engagements with businesses across the Hardap Region aimed at promoting investment, encouraging entrepreneurship and highlighting enterprises that are contributing to regional and national economic development.
