NCAA backs pharmacy students at African symposium
The Namibia Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has supported two Namibian pharmacy students to attend the 14th African Pharmaceutical Symposium that took place in Kigali, Rwanda, for four days in July.
Penna Shilumbu and Mbaru Kauanda, representing the University of Namibia’s School of Pharmacy, received sponsorship towards their registration fees through the NCAA’s corporate social investment programme.
The symposium brought together about 300 pharmacy students and young professionals from 28 African countries to discuss healthcare innovation, youth participation and homegrown solutions.
During a meeting with the NCAA in Windhoek on Thursday, the students said the experience had broadened their understanding of the pharmaceutical sector and strengthened their interest in exploring local medicine production and solutions to Namibia’s healthcare challenges.
They presented the authority with a certificate of appreciation for its support.
