NQA launches evaluation automation
The Namibia Qualifications Authority (NQA), in partnership with Green Enterprise Solutions, announced the launch of a new Evaluation Automation System on Wednesday. This digital solution is designed to redefine qualification evaluation services in Namibia by improving efficiency, transparency, and accessibility through locally developed technology.
The evaluation of qualifications is a critical function of the NQA, ensuring that both local and international qualifications are credible, valid, and comparable within the Namibia National Qualifications Framework (NQF). Historically, this process relied heavily on manual systems, which often resulted in administrative inefficiencies and extended turnaround times.
The new Evaluation Automation System addresses these challenges by digitising the entire evaluation lifecycle. Key improvements to service delivery include:
Reduced Turnaround Times: Minimising manual processes speeds up the transition from application to certification.
Enhanced Accuracy: The system ensures greater consistency in evaluations through digital standardisation.
Real-Time Tracking: Applicants can now track their submissions in real-time, facilitating improved communication.
Strengthened Transparency: Secure digital records improve accountability and provide a clear audit trail.
Data-Driven Decisions: Integrated reporting and analytics tools allow for improved internal planning and policy development.
Green Enterprise Solutions served as the primary partner for the design, development, and implementation of the system. Developed in-house over a 12-month period, the solution leverages the Microsoft Power Platform and cloud-based technologies to meet the NQA’s specific regulatory requirements.
Notably, the system was developed without reliance on external partners, showcasing local expertise in delivering enterprise-level digital solutions. In addition to technical development, Green Enterprise Solutions facilitated stakeholder engagement and provided training for NQA staff to ensure institutional sustainability.
The system introduces a fully digital, paperless environment where applicants can submit documents, make payments online, and receive digitally verifiable certificates. This initiative aligns with national priorities, including Vision 2030 and the National Development Plans, by promoting innovation and service excellence in the public sector.
The NQA indicated that while this launch is a significant achievement, it represents the beginning of a broader journey toward building a comprehensive digital ecosystem that integrates all core functions.
