In a landmark move, Andre Messika Diamonds has handed over a historic distribution to its employees who form the backbone of the company’s operations.

Since opening its Windhoek factory in 2007, the company has earned a reputation as a leader in responsible luxury.

Despite 2025 proving to be one of the most challenging years for the global diamond industry, Andre Messika Diamonds chose to honour its workforce, recognising their loyalty, hard work and sense of ownership.

The payout, valued at N$180 000, was allocated to the Share Participation Trust, which ensures that employees hold a 25% stake in the company. The reward benefitted 71 employees, 90% of whom are Namibian. Many recipients are individuals with disabilities, including those who use wheelchairs and those who are hearing impaired, making the company one of Namibia’s largest private employers of people with disabilities.

“This moment is not about profit, it is about people and recognising the pride you take in your craft and the sense of togetherness you have built,” said company director Marc Friedman.

The distribution was met with joy among employees.

Trustee Joseph Kunyenga reflected on the milestone: “Serving as a trustee for our Shareholders Participation Trust is a privilege. What moves me most is seeing the change in our people. Their commitment is no longer just about the work they do; it’s about the pride of ownership. They come to work not simply as employees, but as owners of this company. That sense of belonging, loyalty, and ambition is deeply inspiring and gives me great hope for the future we are building together.”

Specialising in cutting and polishing diamonds, Andre Messika Diamonds says its vision is to remain a sustainable, inclusive and proudly Namibian leader in the global diamond industry.
