Biomass Fair to showcase opportunities in growing bioeconomy
The Namibia Biomass Industry Group (N-BiG) has invited farmers, landowners, businesses and other stakeholders to attend the Standard Bank Biomass Fair 2026, which will take place in Otjiwarongo from 6 to 8 August.
Organised by N-BiG and the Charcoal Association of Namibia (CAoN), with Standard Bank Namibia as the main sponsor, the annual event is regarded as Namibia's leading platform for the biomass industry. It brings together producers, buyers, financiers and entrepreneurs from across the value chain to network, share knowledge and explore business opportunities in the country's expanding biomass sector.
The event will begin on Thursday, 6 August, with a free industry conference at the Otjozondjupa Regional Council Conference Centre in Otjiwarongo. Attendance is limited to 250 delegates and advance registration is required.
An industry networking function will follow that evening at the Crocodile Farm. Tickets cost N$550 per person and include snacks and refreshments.
The exhibition will take place over the following two days, 7 and 8 August, at Sekelbos from 08:00 to 17:00 daily. Day and weekend tickets are available, while children under the age of 12 will be admitted free of charge.
Businesses interested in exhibiting or hosting demonstrations can book exhibition space, which includes two complimentary expo tickets. Food vendors can also apply for stalls at a cost of N$500, with applications closing on 3 August.
Registration for the conference, expo, exhibitions and food stalls is open online. N-BiG has encouraged interested stakeholders to register early, particularly for the conference, where seating is limited.
The Namibia Agricultural Union (NLU) has welcomed the invitation and encouraged its members to participate in what it described as an important platform for promoting Namibia's growing bioeconomy.
