Chart of the Week

With Namibian elections underway later this year, Cirrus Capital takes a look at elections taking place elsewhere in the world this year in its Chart of the Week.
A total of 65 out of 195 countries have planned elections in 2024, with notable countries including South Africa, Botswana, Russia, the United Kingdom (UK) and the United States of America (USA).
The map demonstrates the time of elections - lighter colours show elections happening soon, while darker colours show elections happening further in the year. Countries labelled white are yet to confirm the exact month of their general elections.
Elections differ from presidential, national assembly, senate, house of representatives, legislative chamber, house of commons, and other relevant political voting.
Of the 65 countries, there are over two billion people eligible to vote for a party or person in their respective nations, says Cirrus’ Liaan Burger, who compiled the Chart of the Week.
