Mercedes-Benz has officially raised the benchmark in the compact luxury segment with the launch of the all-new CLA 200.

Available at authorised dealerships from 12 June, the new CLA 200 offers more space, refinement, comfort, intelligence and efficiency than its predecessor. It also serves as the entry point to an entirely new generation of Mercedes-Benz vehicles built on a flexible modular architecture.

Athletic design

The exterior combines sporty proportions with elegant styling. A long wheelbase, short overhangs and a low-slung silhouette give the CLA 200 a distinctive grand tourer-inspired appearance, while sculpted body lines create a dynamic interplay of light and shadow.

At the front, a chrome star-pattern grille is framed by an illuminated LED light strip. The MULTIBEAM LED headlights and rear lights incorporate the signature Mercedes-Benz star motif and are connected by sleek light bands.

A panoramic glass roof comes as standard across the range. Extending from the windscreen to the rear window without a central brace, it is treated with infrared and low-emissivity coatings to help reduce heat entering the cabin.

Mild-hybrid efficiency

The CLA 200 features a 48-volt mild-hybrid system that combines a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor integrated into a new eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The system delivers 120 kW and 250 Nm of torque to the front wheels, enabling the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.0 seconds. Combined fuel consumption is rated at 5.4 litres per 100 kilometres.

Technology-focused interior

Inside, the CLA 200 introduces a more minimalist and technology-driven cabin design.

The centrepiece is the MBUX Superscreen, which integrates a 10.25-inch driver display and a 14-inch central touchscreen beneath a single glass surface. The system uses real-time graphics and is designed to provide a more intuitive user experience.

A floating centre console houses storage compartments, cup holders and a wireless smartphone charging pad. Combined with the standard panoramic roof, the layout creates a spacious and airy feel while offering improved headroom compared with the previous model.

Next-generation digital intelligence

The CLA 200 is the first production vehicle to run entirely on the new Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS).

Powered by a high-performance onboard computer, the system supports over-the-air software updates and introduces the fourth generation of the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX).

The platform integrates artificial intelligence technologies from Microsoft and Google, enabling more natural voice interactions, enhanced navigation functions and personalised digital assistance. The MBUX Virtual Assistant can engage in conversational dialogue, while Google Maps integration provides detailed navigation and location-based information.

The system also features MBUX Surround Navigation, which combines real-time driver-assistance information with a three-dimensional visualisation of the vehicle’s surroundings to enhance situational awareness.

The all-new Mercedes-Benz CLA 200 is now available at authorised dealerships, with pricing and model specifications varying by market.
