Nedbank funds students

Nedbank Namibia awarded bursaries worth N$680 000 to a total of 21 students through its bursary programme. This is one of the largest ever investments in bursaries aimed at supporting both internal and external students pursuing higher education, with a steadfast dedication to creating pathways for personal and professional growth. After a rigorous selection process, students were chosen based on their fields of study and academic skills.
From the 21 bursary recipients, nine were external students. These students currently study towards qualifications in statistics, mathematics, computer science, information technology, law, accounting, commerce and business management. At the bursary handover ceremony, Nedbank Namibia executive for human capital, Bianca Muller, said it was important for the bank to fund the studies of the youth.
"From a Nedbank perspective, it is important for us to give back to the community by creating opportunities for the youth, who are the future leaders, to develop themselves. This is a call to action for each student to participate with dedication and commitment because it will not be an easy road, but one's perseverance and belief to make it through this journey are worthwhile.
"We believe in the power of education to unlock potential and drive positive change, and this record investment in bursaries shows our commitment to investing in people and communities, empowering individuals to realise their aspirations and contribute meaningfully to society," Muller said.
On the successful completion of their studies, bursary recipients will receive mentorship from Nedbank experts for the purpose of honing their acquired knowledge and to contribute to the success of the bank.
