NUST to host tech conference
The Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) will host the fifth International Conference on Information Systems and Emerging Technologies (ICISET 2026) from Tuesday to Thursday, bringing an international focus on technology and innovation to Windhoek.
The conference will bring together researchers, industry practitioners, policymakers and emerging scholars to examine how rapidly developing technologies can respond to challenges facing Africa and the Global South.
Topics will include artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, healthcare, smart mobility and fintech, with the conference placing a particular focus on African research and perspectives.
ICISET returns to Namibia after previous editions were held in South Africa and Ghana.
The three-day programme will include technical sessions, a game testing and evaluation workshop and a public lecture titled ‘The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Humanity’.
The official opening will take place at 08:00 on Tuesday at the Sixth Floor, High-Tech Transfer Plaza Select (HTTPS), NUST Lower Campus in Windhoek.
