Omaheke plans five-year investment roadmap

MICT Omaheke

The Omaheke Region is developing a five-year investment roadmap aimed at coordinating public projects, donor funding and private-sector investment between 2026 and 2030.

The Office of the Governor convened a stakeholder engagement in Gobabis to develop the region’s first comprehensive Regional Investment Map and Development Roadmap.

The proposed blueprint is intended to align regional development priorities with budget allocations and create a coordinated framework for economic growth.

Omaheke Governor Pijoo Nganate said the absence of a unified development framework had slowed progress.

The meeting was attended by Ohangwena Governor Kadiva Hamutumwa, who shared lessons from her region’s investment map and action plan, which the organisers described as Namibia’s only fully established standalone regional roadmap.

The engagement brought together regional development committees, business leaders and civic organisations to identify priorities and strengthen coordination between government and private investors.

The roadmap is expected to guide development planning in Omaheke through to 2030.
