Six awards for Nors Namibia
Nors Namibia has been recognised as the leading importer in UD Trucks' Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) network after winning six awards, including the prestigious SSA Dealer of the Year title, at the UD Trucks Southern Africa Annual Importer and Dealer Conference (ADC) 2026.
The conference, held at Sun City Resort in South Africa from 3 to 4 June under the theme Own the Future, brought together dealer principals, business leaders and stakeholders from across Southern Africa and other African markets to discuss strategy, performance and future growth while recognising outstanding achievements within the dealer network.
This year's event marked a milestone for UD Trucks Southern Africa, with the opening day dedicated exclusively to SSA markets for the first time, reflecting the company's growing focus on expanding its presence across the continent.
Nors Namibia received seven award nominations and converted six into wins, including the conference's flagship SSA Dealer of the Year award.
Individual honours went to technician Januarie, who was named Technician of the Year; Ronald Zaahl, Driver Trainer of the Year; Arno Smit, Parts Sales Executive of the Year; and Lo-Nette Kotze, who received a Special Recognition Award.
The dealership also won Service Dealer of the Year, accepted by Jaco van Vuuren, while dealer principal Gerhard Rossouw received the SSA Dealer of the Year award on behalf of Nors Namibia.
Speaking after the awards ceremony, Rossouw attributed the achievement to the collective efforts of the company's employees.
"This recognition belongs to every member of the Nors Namibia team. The awards may carry individual names, but they represent the commitment, dedication and teamwork of an entire organisation," he said.
He said the recognition would motivate the dealership to continue raising service standards for its customers.
UD Trucks Southern Africa managing director Filip Van den Heede described Nors Namibia's performance as an example of operational excellence and strong leadership, saying the dealership had set a benchmark for others across the SSA network.
General manager for SSA markets, Graham Kolm, said that receiving seven nominations and converting most of them into awards demonstrated the strength of the Namibian operation. "Nors Namibia has shown what excellence looks like in practice. Their success is the result of a highly engaged team that understands the importance of collaboration and customer-centricity," he said.
Senior vice-president for international sales at UD Trucks, Fabrice Gorlier, said high-performing partners such as Nors Namibia would play an important role in the company's plans to expand its footprint across Africa.
The conference also provided dealers and importers from across the continent with an opportunity to exchange knowledge and align on UD Trucks' long-term growth strategy to 2030.
The awards recognise Nors Namibia's performance across technical services, training, parts sales and customer support, reinforcing its position as one of the top-performing dealerships in UD Trucks' Sub-Saharan African network.
