SME summit tackles growth gap
South Africa's small and medium-sized enterprises are struggling to access capital, win new customers and scale operations, challenges that will be front and centre when The Business Show :: Africa convenes in Johannesburg next month.
The two-day summit, running 2–3 September at the Sandton Convention Centre, will bring together thousands of entrepreneurs, funders, corporate leaders and solution providers in an attempt to bridge the funding and connection gaps that plague the country's SME sector.
"Entrepreneurs don't need more theory. They need access, access to funding, customers, knowledge, connections and real opportunities to grow," said Mike Anderson, founder and chief executive of NSBC Africa, the event organiser.
The event will feature live funding pitches, masterclasses from established entrepreneurs, speed networking sessions and direct access to business solutions providers. Pre-registration is free.
South Africa's SME sector has long battled against structural barriers to growth, including limited access to formal financing and weak customer pipelines. The Business Show :: Africa positions itself as a direct response to these constraints.
