The Windhoek Oktoberfest is set to celebrate its 66th edition on 30 and 31 October 2026, with organisers promising another weekend of Bavarian culture, food, music and traditional games.

Speaking at the official launch in Olympia on Friday, Windhoek Oktoberfest organisation member and master of ceremonies Norbert Wurm said this year’s programme would introduce a cultural-wear competition open to attendees dressed in traditional attire.

Attendees can also look forward to Bavarian food, traditional Oktoberfest games and a special beer brewed by Namibia Breweries for the festival.

OL Group corporate affairs manager Gideon Shilongo said the event represents a tradition that brings generations, communities and friends together.

Namibia Breweries brewer Jason Hanekom also shared insights into the brewing process behind the special German-style beer. - All photos Jorge Dos Santos
