On 16 and 17 May 2025, the much-anticipated Coastal Interhigh between Pro-Ed Akademie and Walvis Bay Private School (WBPS) brought together students, teams, and supporters for two days of fierce competition and outstanding camaraderie. Hosted at Pro-Ed, the atmosphere was electric as both schools rallied behind their athletes, determined to make every match memorable.
From the outset, it was clear the Interhigh was about more than just winning. The enthusiasm of the crowds and the spirit of fair play on the field made every contest special. Teams pushed themselves to the limit, yet respect between players remained a defining feature of the event.
In archery, the margin of victory could not have been slimmer. Pro-Ed clinched the discipline with 1,329 points, narrowly edging out WBPS with 1 322. Chess became a mental battlefield, with Pro-Ed’s three teams placing second, third, and fifth, showcasing depth of skill and determination.
Netball fans were treated to a thrilling game, with WBPS claiming a hard-fought 19–12 victory. On the rugby field, WBPS triumphed again, defeating Pro-Ed 17–10 in a contest full of intensity and physicality.
Pro-Ed, however, struck back on the hockey pitch. The girls’ team dominated with a commanding 5–0 win, while the boys’ match ended in a nail-biting 1–1 draw, with neither side willing to give an inch.
By the close of the Interhigh, both schools had reason to celebrate. WBPS secured strong wins in netball and rugby, while Pro-Ed proudly defended its turf in hockey and edged out archery. Ultimately, the real victor was the spirit of sportsmanship, with both schools leaving the field with pride, cherished memories, and eager anticipation for their next encounter.
