Learners at Amazing Kids Private School and Academy come out of their shells through all school activities including science fairs, athletics, sports and many more. All of this is made possible by the school's efforts to organise activities that highlight the diverse range of skills learners possess.
An innovative feature of the school's traditions is the music festival, which features poetry reading and reciting, dancing and singing. There were dancers from all genres, including hip-hop, traditional and TikTokers.
“Dancing with my friends was a great memory I wanted to have. Since it was the first time having the music festival, I wanted to be one of the first people to try it,” dancer Sasha Hermann said.
A large number of the learners also played the piano, and the audience helped them by applauding and singing along.
A few duos and soloists were present; Crispin Matengu garnered significant attention among them. "I was anxious, especially since I was singing in front of people."
Duet performer Esther Mundia said "I felt the crowd staring, but when people started singing along, I got a bit comfortable".
For the most part, the audience served to ease the performers' nerves. Everybody grinned as they walked away. Although brief, the event had a significant influence. The editorial team anticipates an increasing number of outstanding performances next year. The event proved that, with enough effort, nothing is impossible.
