Head boy - Francois du PlessisOn 15 January 2025, Francois du Plessis became head boy: an arduous role that goes beyond its title. His dedication to the student body is evident through his involvement, but such involvement brings challenges. “What makes it easier is prioritising,” he explains. He understands that his role requires sacrifices, which help him manage demands.Francois believes effective leadership comes from confidence in one’s own leadership style. To him, it’s not about superiority but guiding others to unlock their best selves.

Head girl - Connie VisagieHow do you ensure students’ voices are heard and their concerns are addressed? It’s important to know your people, knowing when to take somebody seriously or not and always giving them a chance. If you don’t give someone a chance, they will feel like they will never be heard. For me, it’s important to make sure everyone is heard and feels comfortable speaking to me. What advice would you give to the students who aspire to be leaders? I believe you have to make every opportunity the best. It is a very big responsibility, but it is also very fun and a great honour.
