Headboy and Headgirl

Head Boy: Jonas Nande
When I was elected as head boy of Coastal High School, I felt both honoured and humbled. It was not an easy journey to this role. I face many challenges, moments of doubt and even pressure balancing both leadership and academics. Yet, these struggles helped shape me into the person I have become today. I learned that leadership is not about wearing a badge or having red stripes, but rather about service, by listening to others, standing up for what is right even when it is hard, and most importantly, setting an example for our future leaders even when thinking no one is watching. My greatest reward has been seeing how fellow learners have been inspired, encouraged and motivated through not only my words but also through my actions.
Although this journey has come to an end it has taught me many life skills such as resilience, patience and the value of humanity which I carry on with me. To every future leader reading this, I want to remind you to believe in yourself, even when the road seems long and difficult. Your circumstances now do not define your future yet YOUR determination and choices do.

Head Girl: Helena Angula
This year as head girl of Coastal High School has been unforgettable. Being the first from the pre-vocational course to hold this role made it even more meaningful. There were many challenges, yes, but also so many laughs, memories and proud moments. From school events to everyday chats with classmates and my LRC teammates, I’ve truly enjoyed it all.
To every student reading this, especially those in the pre-vocational stream: never doubt your worth. Let my journey be proof that leadership isn’t about where you come from, it’s about showing up, listening, always giving your best, believing in yourself and your commitment to the role. Remember, with the trust and encouragement from the right people, you can achieve more than anyone expects, even becoming head girl. Therefore, thank you, Coastal High, for both believing in me and supporting me through this journey.
