Lingua opens new Rehoboth training centre
International Training College-Lingua officially opened its new Training Centre in Rehoboth recently, just after opening a Training Centre in Usakos a few weeks ago. This marks what leaders described as a major step for education and skills development in the Hardap Region. The ribbon cutting, held on 21 November 2025, was officiated by Hardap governor Riaan McNab, who praised the institution for expanding access to quality training in underserved communities.
Local leaders, including Mayor Justin Coetzee, CEO of the Rehoboth Town Council, Ronald Windswaai, and Portfolio Councillor Jacky Khariseb, attended the event. They commended Lingua for its long-term investment and its role in strengthening regional human capital.
McNab said the centre represents “a new beginning” for Rehoboth, emphasising that education remains the engine of development. He encouraged young people to embrace the opportunities the campus will offer, urging them to “work hard, dream boldly, and seize every opportunity.”
“Rehoboth has long been synonymous with vocational excellence, with talent, skill, determination, and a deeply practical orientation to work. We have artisans, technicians, skilled workers, and young people hungry to build a future with their own hands,” said Coetzee. “For far too long, higher learning and technical training have been accessible mainly to those who can afford to travel, pay accommodation elsewhere, or uproot themselves from home”
Founded 24 years ago as a language training centre, Lingua has grown into a fully accredited institution offering vocational and higher education programmes, from Certificate to PhD level. The new Rehoboth Training Centre is expected to serve youth, job-seekers and adult learners, bridging the gap between education and employment.
