WIS celebrates outstanding exam results

Windhoek International School (WIS) has announced the exceptional performance of its learners in the 2023 International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examinations.

IBDP highlights
The class of 2023 achieved an impressive average of 30.58 points in the IBDP, including record-breaking scores for the International Baccalaureate Core Bonus Points. Their pass rate of 81.25% exceeded the IB world average of 79.67%. These achievements reflect the dedication of the learners, support from parents and resilience instilled by WIS teachers. Graduates are now pursuing further studies at prestigious universities worldwide.
WIS proudly offers the rigorous two-year IBDP in grades 11 and 12, recognised globally for preparing learners for the future job market. WIS is Namibia's only International Baccalaureate World school and maintains an inclusive admissions policy.
In the IGCSE examinations, WIS grade 10 learner surpassed expectations with over 70% of all grades at C and above. A remarkable 20% achieved five or more As/A*s, and one learner achieved an astonishing 7A*s and 1 A. These results highlight the dedication of both learners and educators.

Ethan van Drunen, WIS educational director, encapsulated this ethos, emphasising that WIS is committed to being an inclusive, caring learning community that makes a positive impact on Namibia and the world.
