Delphina Muleke started her Bank Windhoek journey in March 2018 at the customer contact centre, assisting customers telephonically with bank-related queries.
When she started the job, she had no experience in the banking sector but had more than five years of experience in the communications sector.
"It has been both challenging and fulfilling to be able to assist customers, and it feels gratifying to do this job," Muleke said.
"The job itself is gratifying. Once a client is assisted and takes your name, you feel a sense of ‘yes, this is what I am here for’. However, when we cannot assist, we refer them to a third party," she said.
Be unique
On a typical day, Muleke wakes up, reads her daily devotional, and prepares for work.
After work, Muleke attends part-time classes and then heads home and devotes herself to her second job, parenting. Then she writes her "to-do list" for the next day before going to bed.
Outside the office, Muleke enjoys and does quite a lot.
Here are some fun facts about her.
She is talkative; the oldest sibling loves snacking and lives by Luke 1:37, which says: "For nothing is impossible with God." She is hardworking, a happy person, she cannot ride a bicycle, and she is a food lover.
Muleke completed a bachelor’s in communications at the Namibian University of Science and Technology. She decided to continue her studies and is currently pursuing arbitration and dispute resolution at the University of Namibia.
As for advice for the youth, she underlines that dreams can only become a reality if they wake up and go for them.
"We are all unique in our own ways. Do your own thing and do not worry about what others are doing,” she said.
