Reynold Dennis Auchab, the newly appointed client executive in the private sector at Namibia Media Holdings, brings a dynamic and determined spirit to his professional journey. Auchab, who is currently working towards his MBA, assumed the role in August. He holds a bachelor of commerce majoring in marketing management from the Management College of Southern Africa in Johannesburg.
“One of my proudest accomplishments is being the first graduate in our family. It was not easy, as my mother sold kapana and other goods on the streets to send me to university. I didn't have a choice but to work hard and make her proud,” Auchab said.

Hard work
The Karibib native started from humble beginnings, making his debut in the corporate industry as a general worker at Namcol in 2015. He slowly worked his way up to an assistant marketing manager at a small marketing firm. His career trajectory evolved in 2016, when he assumed the role of sales advisor at Nictus Swakopmund. After three years, he made a significant move to Home Corp. Swakopmund, continuing his career as a sales advisor.
In January of this year, Auchab joined Trustco Group, initially as a financial advisor. His drive and determination quickly led to his promotion as a wealth consultant within just two months, underscoring his ability to excel in his field. His transition to Namibia Media Holdings (NMH) as a client executive is testament to his dedication and ambition to make a positive impact in whatever industry he finds himself in.

Fostering partnerships
As a marketer, he has always been motivated by creative projects, teamwork and being able to draw a connection between his efforts and the organisation’s bottom line. He was thus drawn to NMH because of its cultural diversity and flexible working environment.
“With my profound love and passion for marketing, communication, client relations and the broader realm of media, I act as a liaison between NMH and its clients. I thus foster a strong and collaborative partnership.”
He admitted that, just like everyone else, he has encountered his fair share of hurdles. He highlighted his ignorance of operating a camera when he first joined the NMH group of companies. Thanks to the NTV team for giving him a shot to cover live rugby games and learn his way around them, he is proud to have gained more experience.
“This is exactly what I was hoping for when I applied for this role. I couldn't be happier.”
Auchab advises the youth to prioritise their education and stay away from the streets. They should make good use of their time by networking on platforms like LinkedIn with professionals in various industries. Adding to that, seeking mentors in fields that interest them and following their guidance will be beneficial to them in the long run, especially when they embark on the corporate world.
“Never forget to pray and ask God for wisdom. Also, keep an eye out for internship opportunities and teachable.”
