Elyzian Fitness: Where wellness meets mindfulness

In the heart of Windhoek's Dorado Park, siblings Yannis, Nuwuchka and Bravick Beukes have forged a beacon of wellness - the Elyzian Fitness centre.
United by blood and a fervent passion for fitness, their journey began with a vision to create a sanctuary where individuals could sculpt their bodies and nourish their souls. Today, their centre stands as a testament to their dedication and expertise in personal training, boot camps, Pilates, yoga, nutrition and overall well-being.
Yannis and Bravick's commitment to excellence and personalised care has garnered them praise from fitness enthusiasts in Windhoek and beyond. Their holistic approach transcends physical limitations, allowing clients to embrace a lifestyle of overall vitality. Beyond professional success, the brothers prioritise familial bonds and friendship, finding joy in creating memories and relishing life's simple pleasures.
Elyzian Fitness is not just a gym, but also a way of life. Divided into four entities - the Personal Training Hub in Dorado Valley, Elyzian Studio in Eros, Elyzian Apparel and soon-to-open Elyzian Eats - the centre offers a comprehensive approach to fitness and wellness.
“We are three personal trainers: Yannis Beukes, Bravick Beukes and Chad Hansen. Then we have group trainer and in-house doctor, Nuwuchka Beukes, and one fitness instructor, Gotlieb Naruseb."

A personal approach to fitness
The journey began in June 2020, amidst the challenges of the pandemic, with the brothers building Elyzian Fitness from the ground up with the help of friends. In 2021, their participation in Dololo's incubation programme, funded by B2Gold, provided the necessary support to fast-track their business to its current success.
Having worked in various gyms, Yannis and Bravick identified a gap in the market: The lack of accountability and personalised guidance for people who are passionate about fitness. “We both worked in different gyms and realised that there is a gap in the market; people sign up, but they do not know where to start. They get on a treadmill, go to the studio and get out,” Yannis said.
Thus, the Personal Training Hub was born, where clients have a dedicated trainer to keep them accountable, motivated and focused on their goals. At Elyzian Fitness, clients are not just numbers, they are family, the Beukes siblings said.
“We are like a family at Elyzian Fitness. Some days, it's not just physical exercise; we take the time to talk to our clients and find out what challenges they face in life that are delaying their progress."

Challenges and triumphs
As a small business, Elyzian Fitness faces the challenge of funding, a common hurdle for many entrepreneurs in Namibia. Despite this, their biggest accomplishment lies in witnessing their clients reach their fitness goals. This success fuels their passion and dedication to helping others achieve holistic well-being, they said.
Yannis and Bravick advocate for more programmes and support for start-ups in Namibia, emphasising the importance of compliance and discipline in entrepreneurship. They believe that by promoting physical fitness and proper nutrition, individuals can overcome mental health challenges and transform their lives.
"Your body can withstand almost anything; it's your mind that you need to convince." This popular mantra resonates not only in their fitness philosophy, but also in their approach to life, inspiring others to embrace challenges and pursue their dreams with unwavering determination.
