Old Mutual announced the appointment of Mignon Du Preez as its marketing, public affairs and sustainability executive on 1 September.Before joining Old Mutual, Du Preez worked at the Bank of Namibia as manager for strategy, projects, and transformation, and prior to that, she was the senior manager for clients and industries at Deloitte Namibia.
She has over 15 years of experience in strategic leadership, marketing, business development and business transformation
In her new role, Du Preez will lead and manage all marketing activities, public relations and sustainability initiatives as a member of the Old Mutual Namibia executive team.
She holds an MBA from the Cardiff Metropolitan University, a master’s in strategy and innovation from the Westford University executive programme, an international marketing higher certificate and an international management certificate from the Institute of International Marketing and Management. She also boasts change management certification from the University of Cape Town.
Du Preez said she looks forward to this position to use her wealth of experience and skills to drive and achieve the organisational mission, vision and strategy through impactful marketing, client and public affairs, sustainability, and strategy implementation.

Never stop learning
Amongst others, Du Preez said one of the lessons she has learnt is to never stop learning.
“Adopting a learning attitude throughout your working career will help you to become more rounded, educated and a more fulfilled individual. I have learnt to be agile, nimble and open myself to exploring different things. This has allowed me to grow and become a more diverse individual personally and in the workplace. Acquiring new skills and knowledge has been a key drive of success for me,” she said.
