More than a mother, more than a wife and more than a business owner, Christel-Ann Rautenbach is a woman who starts off every day with the sole purpose of reminding women everywhere that they are unique in every aspect of life.
Rautenbach officially launched Pursuing True Beauty in 2020, offering various services such as image consulting, personal styling, event coordinating, motivational speaking and hosting the annual women’s conference, to name a few.
“Within Pursuing True Beauty, I aspire to motivate, encourage and remind women of their priceless value, their unique personality and their true identity,” says Rautenbach.
Rautenbach admits that every business faces challenges and says one of her biggest challenges was pioneering a service like image consulting in a small town like Swakopmund. But Rautenbach had a strong head on her shoulders and overcame this challenge, which allowed her to transform Pursuing True Beauty into the establishment it is today.
“The go-getter that I am, I never gave up, so I replaced old strategies with new ones. I was willing to abandon what was not working, and I could see the fruit thereof,” says Rautenbach.
One of the results of this mindset was the opportunity Pursuing True Beauty had to decorate the Miss Teen Namibia pageant in 2023. She also gave her first image presentation to 180 women from the municipality of Swakopmund that same year.

Looking ahead
For Rautenbach, the next step is to grow awareness of the services she provides and take hands with other individuals or organisations that share the same passion for pursuing the well-being of women.
“My greatest dream is to reform the view of true beauty both inwardly and outwardly in every woman over the face of the earth,” says Rautenbach.
Rautenbach says the best advice she can give a young entrepreneur looking to start their own business is to "let your business be the solution to a crisis in your community."
She says in order for a business to flourish, "you should understand and always remember why you started your business. When you do what you love and you are called to do it, you won’t work a day in your life."
