This innovative enhancement enables members to convert everyday choices into long-term financial growth. The new benefit allows Old Mutual Rewards members to seamlessly transfer their rewards points into one of Old Mutual Namibia’s Unit Trust funds, providing a simple and convenient way to build wealth over time.
Whether saving for a rainy day, a child’s education, or long-term financial freedom, this feature transforms loyalty rewards into lasting financial value. The announcement comes as the Old Mutual Rewards programme reaches another significant milestone, with rewards redemptions now exceeding N$5 million in value. This achievement underscores the growing impact of the programme in helping Namibians benefit from making positive financial and lifestyle choices. “We’re constantly looking for ways to connect financial wellness with our customers’ real lives,” says Logan Fransman, Group Chief Operating Officer of Old Mutual Namibia. “With this enhancement, we’re showing that every point earned through our Rewards programme can now play a role in building a stronger financial future. It’s one more step towards making investing more inclusive and accessible.” Members can convert their Rewards points into Unit Trust investments once they have accumulated a minimum of 5 000 points, equivalent to N$500 in value.
To make use of this feature, members must have an active Old Mutual Unit Trust account. Clients who do not yet have an active Unit Trust account can visit the Old Mutual Namibia website for guidance on opening one. Once their account is active, they can start converting their Rewards points into Unit Trust investments. The conversion feature is currently available via the Old Mutual Namibia Rewards web platform only and is not yet accessible through the mobile app. Members can log in through the website to convert their Rewards points into investments and take another step towards achieving their financial goals. The Old Mutual Rewards programme rewards Namibians for making positive financial decisions, whether through using budgeting tools, engaging with financial education resources, or making responsible product choices.
Members can now not only be rewarded for these good habits but also choose to convert those rewards into investments that may generate future returns.
