Fresh talent joins NBL
Six bright young Namibian graduates have joined the ranks of Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL) as part of the company’s Local Graduate Development Programme, which kicked off on Tuesday, 23 July. This latest intake marks another milestone in NBL’s efforts to invest in local talent, support youth employment, and help shape a stronger, more skilled Namibian workforce.
The new recruits will be placed in various departments, including human resources, finance, marketing, engineering, and logistics. They are Celine Shilongo (Human Resources - Industrial Psychology); Undja Kasete (Finance - Business Administration); Niita Kanime (Finance - Financial Accounting); Roeline Beukes (Marketing - Business Administration Honours); Ndeiweda Ndaamekele (Engineering - Electrical Engineering); and Hilya Shuuya (Logistics - Supply Chain Management).
Their NBL journey begins with a three-day onboarding programme, including a full tour of the brewery and packaging lines, followed by a 12-month placement in their chosen departments. During this year, they’ll be exposed to hands-on projects, receive mentorship and training, and gain valuable experience that bridges the gap between theory and practice.
Speaking at the launch of the programme, NBL Managing Director Waldemar von Lieres emphasised the company’s commitment to youth development: “As a proudly Namibian company, we believe it’s our responsibility to invest in the future by empowering young people with the skills and opportunities they need to thrive. We’re incredibly proud to welcome this group. They’ve got drive and ambition, and we look forward to helping them grow into professionals who can take on challenges in any business environment.”
The Local Graduate Development Programme is more than just a stepping stone; it’s built on NBL’s values of caring for people and the planet, and having the courage to dream and pioneer.
Graduates are encouraged to think big, speak up, and contribute meaningfully from day one. With mentorship, real-world challenges, and the backing of a company that believes in them, they’re well on their way to making a difference, not just within NBL, but across the country.
