‘Footsteps to Success’ with #BeFree Youth Campus

The #Befree Youth Campus handed over 100 pairs of shoes to its members under its newly established “Footsteps to Success” project.
The donation was made possible thanks to the Association of Diplomatic Spouses (ADS) who availed N$20 000 towards the initiative.
Speaking at the event, One Economy Foundation chief executive Uajorokisa Karuaihe thanked the ADS, saying “this initiative is more than just about shoes; it's about removing barriers to education, enhancing self-esteem, fostering community spirit, and encouraging sustained engagement from all sectors of society”.
She added that, “this initiative not only acknowledged the importance of proper attire in fostering an environment conducive to learning but also symbolised our collective commitment to uplifting the youth of Namibia. Each pair of shoes we distributed through our #BeFree Footsteps to Success initiative was a small step towards ensuring that every child could walk into their classroom with pride and confidence, ready to learn and lead.”
The launch also featured motivational speeches, including one from #BeFree Youth Campus member Edwardo Swartz, and an address by ADS president Matthias Geisler.
The #BeFree Youth Campus serves as a sanctuary for young individuals aged 13 to 35, offering a diverse range of services, including the #BeFree Cares Clinic - a reproductive health clinic, mental health support, life skills workshops, after-school homework programmes, and more.
