Major investment in staff-led community projects

Old Mutual Namibia, through the Old Mutual Foundation, has invested N$240 000 in 18 staff-led community projects as part of the 2025 Staff Community Builder Initiative, which empowers employees to create positive change in their communities.
Each year, staff are invited to apply for funding to support causes they are passionate about, from improving schools and childhood centres to community upliftment and essential services. This year saw 38 applications, with 18 projects selected from across Namibia to receive funding. The support is more than double what was offered in previous years.
Twelve projects will each receive N$15 000, and six will receive N$10 000. The projects span all 14 regions of Namibia, addressing a variety of needs including early childhood education, school infrastructure, feeding programmes, hygiene support, and more.
What makes the initiative special is the personal commitment of the staff members behind each project. These are not just funding requests, but genuine efforts to address real needs in their communities.
Old Mutual’s Mignon du Preez said, “When our people step forward to lead change, the foundation stands behind them. These projects are not just grants, but stories of service, impact, and the belief that doing great things starts at home.”
This year’s projects will create tangible impact in the Khomas, Omaheke, Zambezi, Kavango West, Hardap and Otjozondjupa regions. The foundation will support each project from start to finish, ensuring logistics and community involvement are carefully managed.
