N$300 000 invested into transform lives across Namibia
Old Mutual executives, through the Old Mutual Foundation’s Executive Discretionary Fund, have invested N$300 000 in initiatives that bring hope and dignity to communities across Namibia. From the capital to coastal towns and rural schools, donations driven by Old Mutual Namibia’s executive have supported projects that truly change lives. In the north, learners at Sauyemwa Junior Primary School now boast new netball and soccer kits, fostering teamwork and confidence. In Mariental, Empelheim Secondary School received essential items to support learners’ well-being, while a donation to Naiti Combined School provided proper school bags - a simple change that restores pride and makes learning easier.
Health and wellness initiatives have also benefited, with contributions to the Cancer Association’s Tea Party for Hope and medical student outreach programmes in Rehoboth. Community upliftment projects such as Cup4Can Swakopmund and Round Table Welwitschia were supported to strengthen social impact and fundraising efforts.
Patricia Olivier, chairperson of the Old Mutual Foundation, said: “At Old Mutual, we believe thriving communities are the foundation of a sustainable future. Through the Executive Discretionary Fund, we respond to real needs, whether it’s giving children the tools to learn, supporting families in crisis, or enabling health initiatives. Every contribution is about creating hope and building resilience for Namibians.”
This year’s impact stretches far and wide, from early childhood centres receiving renovations to schools gaining essential resources, and families finding relief through basic necessities. These stories of transformation reflect Old Mutual Namibia’s unwavering commitment to champion progress and empower communities to flourish.
