Blood donors urged to ‘bleed’ at the Ultimate Blood Drive

Motorheads and thrill-seekers have a chance to do some real-life hero work this weekend. The Blood Transfusion Service of Namibia (NamBTS), in partnership with The Old Wheelers Club, is hosting “Engine Bleed: The Ultimate Blood Drive” on Saturday, 13 September 2025, from 09:30 to 16:00 at The Old Wheelers Club.
The event fuses adrenaline, engines and giving back, bringing together car and bike enthusiasts to support a life-saving cause.
“Engine Bleed proves that giving back can be both fun and lifesaving,” said Zita Tobin, NamBTS Manager of Marketing and Donor Relations. “Every unit of blood donated can save up to three lives, and this event shows that donating blood can be exciting and community-driven.”
Last year, 77 people donated blood at Engine Bleed. This year, organisers are aiming for 100 donations, as part of NamBTS’s ongoing #DareToCare campaign, which highlights the power individuals have to save lives through donation.
