CRAN Values Teams reach out to communities

The Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN) applauds the achievements of its Values Teams following the successful completion of the 2025 community outreach initiative, an annual programme aimed at uplifting communities across the country.
The initiative encourages CRAN employees to identify and support community-based organisations that promote education, health, and social inclusion. Each team received N$7 500 from CRAN and was challenged to raise an additional minimum of N$10 000 through internal fundraising.
Together, the four teams – Passion, Accountability, Respect, and Innovation – raised an impressive N$71 431, demonstrating their collective commitment to compassion and social impact.
Team Passion focused on supporting learners with special needs, visiting the School for the Visually Impaired, School for the Hearing Impaired, and Môreson Special School in Khomasdal, Windhoek. With N$17 701 raised, the team donated stationery, cleaning materials, laminating machines, and treats, bringing joy to more than 250 children with disabilities from across the country.
In the Omusati Region, Team Accountability directed its efforts to Naiti Combined School in the Okalongo Constituency, addressing urgent infrastructure needs. The team raised N$18 600, which went towards purchasing building materials, roofing sheets, cement, and stationery, improving conditions for the school’s 355 learners and 15 teachers.
Team Respect partnered with the Ebenezer Soup Kitchen in Havana, Windhoek, contributing N$17 930 to purchase food items, wood, and cement. Their support helped sustain the facility, which provides daily meals to over 600 vulnerable children, and strengthened its operational capacity.
Finally, Team Innovation extended a helping hand to the Paediatric Oncology Ward at Windhoek Central Hospital, donating hygiene products, electrical supplies, educational materials, and child-friendly items valued at N$17 200. The contribution benefitted both young cancer patients and the healthcare staff dedicated to their treatment.
Chairperson of the Value Champions, Abraham Eita, praised the initiative’s success, saying it showcased CRAN’s deep-rooted commitment to social responsibility and teamwork.
“This initiative reflects CRAN’s continued commitment to social responsibility, teamwork, and community empowerment,” said Eita. “Our staff’s generosity and dedication remind us that true service extends beyond the workplace and into the lives of those who need it most.”
