Winter outreach to Groot Aub
A winter outreach will be taking place to Groot Aub, 60km south of Windhoek, on Saturday, 17 June.In light of this, the organisers are again asking for assistance from the public by donating a blanket, a food parcel, a toiletry hamper or a bag of oranges.
According to convener Dieter Maree, “A winter garment, especially for children and the elderly, will make a difference with the cold approaching, which will likely be a little wet this year”.
He added that Pep sells single blankets of good quality and at reasonable prices. “A used sleeping bag, blanket or mattress or winter bedding is more than welcome.”
He asked that the food package consist more or less of the following items: A small packet of sugar, a small packet of mielie meal, a small can of beef or fish, a small packet of tea, a packet of soup mix and a pack of 2-minute noodles
“The toiletry hamper's contents can consist more or less of the following items: A washcloth, a tube of toothpaste, a toothbrush, a roll-on for men or women, a cookie of dual-purpose sunlight / Dettol soap, a small jar of petroleum jelly, sanitary pads for the young ladies.”
He added that soup, bread and a piece of meat will also be served to those in need.
