Benjamin appointed interim NSC chair

Sports Minister Sanet Steenkamp has appointed Swakopmund municipal chief executive Alfeus Benjamin as a member and interim chairperson of the Namibia Sport Commission (NSC) board, effective from 28 July until 31 December.
The NSC confirmed the appointment in a statement issued on Thursday evening.
“This temporary measure was necessitated by the expiry of the terms of office of five board members on 30 June, which reduced the remaining membership below the number required to constitute a quorum,” the statement read.
