The Cohen Fistball Tournament will take place on Saturday at the club’s ground in Olympia as teams battle for bragging rights.
A total of ten teams will compete for the coveted title, which one of the ten teams will take home on Saturday afternoon.
The first matches in the under-13 junior category will begin at 08:30, with the upcoming future stars expected to test each other’s skills and agility.
The host CFC and the green-whites from SKW will each be represented by two teams in this division.
At the last meeting four weeks ago, SKW A comfortably won the tournament with three victories.
Seven teams have registered for the adult competition, meaning the tournament winner will be determined in only one division.
Two teams from the extended national U18 squad will face SFC from Swakopmund, as well as two teams each from SKW and Cohen.
Last year’s winner of the Cohen tournament, TSV Grafenau from Germany, will not be here to defend their title.
Cohen 1, who have won every tournament this season so far, are favourites going into the title race.
Their last tournament victory was seven years ago, as the tournament often had to be canceled due to a lack of teams, or because the competition from Europe was too strong.
“It remains to be seen how the U18 squads will fare, containing some players who are now among the top performers at their clubs,” Fistball Namibia spokesperson Helmo Minz said.
