HTS festival back after years

Windhoek Technical High School (HTS) hosted its annual Hennie de Waal Sports Festival at the school's sports grounds over the weekend.
The event, which kicked off on Thursday and ended on Saturday, saw eight schools from Windhoek, Rehoboth and Okahandja partake in various sports codes.
The attractions were football, netball and rugby.

Football
For the under-15 boys, it was a 3-0 victory for HTS against St George's Diocesan School to scoop the gold. In the same age group for silver, Cosmos High School faced Delta Secondary School Windhoek and came out victorious with a 1-0 victory.
In the under-17 division, Delta managed to scoop gold with a 2-1 victory against HTS and the same score against Cosmos. Silver was scooped by St Georges after beating Cosmos 1-0.
The thrilling football finale was the under-19 clash between Academia Secondary School and HTS. The game the hosts beating Academia 2-0.

Netball
For this year's festival, Windhoek High School (WHS) showed their resilience by managing to scoop top awards in all three age groups.
For under-15, WHS A took gold against WHS under-14 B with an 8-7 victory.
In the under-17 final, WHS faced Delta, beating them 13-6. During the under-19 final, WHS beat the host 18-10, taking home the gold.

Rugby
The rugby final saw a jaw-dropping game between Walvis Bay Private School (WBPS) and HTS taking place. The match was one for the books, as both schools are known for their endurance in school leagues. However, the clash saw WBPS taking the gold with a 47-10 victory.
