Khorixas set for seven-a-side tourney
The Khorixas Town Council will host a seven-a-side football tournament on 27 June at Herbert Conradie Stadium.
The tournament will serve as a fundraising event for the Khorixas Trade Fair, scheduled to take place later this year.
Khorixas Town Council spokesperson Simson Ochurub said the event forms part of the council’s efforts to ease the financial burden of hosting the trade fair.
“No teams have registered yet, but we are targeting local stakeholders to support the project. So far, we are only looking at hosting football teams, but the doors are open to other sport codes,” noted Ochurub.
Registration is N$500 per team and will close on 26 June.
The winning team will receive a floating trophy and 10 gold medals, while the runners-up will receive 10 silver medals.
