Namibia’s rising sprint sensation Magano Naseb is proving that talent, discipline and determination pay off both on the track and in the classroom. After storming to gold in the U19 100 m and 200 m at the 2025 NSSU national championship, Magano was awarded a N$20,000 scholarship, a well-earned reward recognising his exceptional performance and commitment to excellence.
This scholarship, supported by the Frank Fredericks Foundation, marks a major milestone in Magano’s journey, helping him not only pursue his athletic dreams but also lay the foundation for a bright academic and professional future in finance.
But the achievements don’t stop there. Magano went on to clinch gold in the men’s 100 m at the Athletics Namibia senior national championship, proving he’s not just a youth star; he is ready to take on Namibia’s sprinting elite.
At only 18 years old, Magano has already overcome major hurdles, including a hamstring injury in 2024, and has proudly represented Namibia at the Youth Commonwealth Games and the U20 World Championships.
Off the track, he finds inspiration in To Kill a Mockingbird, drawing strength from its themes of courage and justice, values that reflect his own perseverance.
Guided by coach Goldey Isaacs of Oceans Athletics Club, and now backed by a meaningful scholarship, Magano is sprinting toward national records, Olympic dreams and a future that goes far beyond the finish line.
The Frank Fredericks Foundation said it is proud to invest in the future of this exceptional young Namibian.
