Nedbank For Good Series celebrates successful coastal leg
The Nedbank For Good Series continued its nationwide journey with three competitive coastal rounds at Rossmund Golf Course, Walvis Bay Golf Club and Henties Bay Golf and Lifestyle Estate.
The coastal leg delivered exciting competition across all divisions as players battled for valuable points ahead of the closing stages of the 2026 series. A total of 139 players participated in the three rounds, representing a significant increase in participation compared to previous years.
Round 10, held at Rossmund Golf Course on 29 August, saw Fabie Shilongo claim victory in the men’s division with 41 points. Quintin Jonck finished second on 39 points, with Vilho Hanghome third on 38 points.
In the women’s division, Suene Venter claimed first place with 35 points, while Tiekie de Wet and Rina Knight finished second and third respectively, both on 33 points.
The competition intensified at Round 11 at Walvis Bay Golf Club on 5 September, where Sandro de Gouveia produced the standout performance to win the men’s division with 44 points. Grant Mather finished second on 40 points, while Simon Thompson was third on 39 points.
Corne Pitout won the women’s division with an excellent 42 points, followed by Rina Knight on 40 points and Mariena Ludwig on 35 points.
The coastal swing concluded with Round 12 at Henties Bay Golf and Lifestyle Estate on 12 September, where golfers again produced strong performances in challenging conditions.
Tollie Cronje claimed the men’s division with 39 points, finishing ahead of Tienie de Wet on 38 points and Des van Heerden on 37 points. Wilna Bredenhann won the women’s division with 34 points, followed by Bonita Bredenhann on 32 points and Nicolene Janse van Rensburg on 25 points.
Tournament organiser Dan Zwiebel praised the turnout and logistical success of the coastal rounds.
‘The coastal events enjoyed strong support and showcased a high standard of golf throughout the series. The ladies’ competitions were particularly well supported, with players travelling between clubs to participate and support one another, reflecting the camaraderie and growing strength of the women’s game.

Nedbank Namibia Communications and PR Manager Selma Kaulinge said the tournament continues to strengthen its position as one of Namibia’s leading amateur golf series.
‘The coastal leg once again demonstrated the incredible depth of golfing talent across Namibia. The high level of competition, strong participation and support from local golf clubs reflects the growing popularity of the Nedbank For Good Series.

With 12 rounds completed, attention now turns to the final qualifying event before competitors battle for a place in the season finale.
