NFA warns of fixture forfeitures over late registrations
Namibia Football Association (NFA) acting secretary-general Mabos Vries has urged member clubs to complete all outstanding player and official registrations without further delay.
Vries said in a circular issued on 8 September that the official league kick-off dates remained unchanged and were fast approaching, making it essential for clubs to finalise their administrative requirements ahead of the new league season.
“As previously communicated, the official league kick-off dates remain fixed and are fast approaching. To ensure a seamless, professional and compliant start to the football calendar, all administrative structures must be finalised well ahead of the league kick-off,” he said.
According to Vries, the NFA Secretariat had been auditing the NFA E-Connect system and was concerned about the slow rate of player and official registrations.
“Operating with delayed or incomplete rosters poses a major risk to the scheduling integrity of our leagues and places an unnecessary administrative burden on the Competition and Registration Department,” he said.
Outstanding registrations
Vries urged clubs to address their outstanding registrations immediately and ensure their squads and technical teams were fully compliant.
“We count on the usual proactive leadership and administrative efficiency of member clubs to resolve this bottleneck immediately. Let us work collectively to ensure our teams are fully compliant and ready for an outstanding season of Namibian football.”
He emphasised that all data entries, identity verifications and contract updates must be processed digitally through the official NFA E-Connect platform.
“The system will not grant automatic extensions. Any club that fails to register its minimum required playing squad and technical officials on time will face registration blockages, leading to the potential forfeiture of inaugural fixtures,” Vries said.
Clubs requiring technical assistance or help troubleshooting the E-Connect platform have been advised to contact the NFA Competition and Registration Department.
The 2026-27 Namibian football season officially began on 3 August 2026, with the first registration window running until 9 October.
The second registration window is scheduled for 9 February to 6 March 2027, while the season will conclude on 31 July 2027.
