Louren Steenkamp, in-form opening batsman of ATG WHS Old Boys, acknowledges applause after scoring his century against the home side APS Wanderers on Saturday. Steenkamp’s 105 runs off 59 balls included eight fours ans seven sixes, as he led WHS Old Boys to a winning total of 177/6 to which Wanderers (174/4) narrowly fell short by just three runs. In the day’s earlier match, Trustco United conceded their outright lead in the standings when they lost their first match to CCD Tigers. The latter team’s captain Nicol Loftie-Eaton was named player of the match with 51 runs off 31 balls (4x4 2x6) and 2/19 in 4 overs. On Sunday, schoolboy Adriaan Coetzee starred with five wickets for 3 runs in 3 overs as WHS Old Boys restricted CCD Tigers to only 67 all out, to win by seven wickets.
