Record 32 teams compete in latest KSSR round
A record 32 teams took part in the fourth round of the Khomas Schools Volleyball League (KSSR) at Deutsche Höhere Privatschule Windhoek (DHPS) on Saturday.
Learners competed in U13, U15 and U17 boys’ and girls’ matches.
Moses ||Garoëb Primary School stood out in the U13 divisions, with both its boys’ and girls’ teams winning every match they played.
Progress Private School A and Christ’s Love Christian School also finished the day unbeaten in the U13 boys’ division, keeping the title race close.
The U13 girls’ division saw Havana Primary School defeat Christ’s Love 2-1, handing the school its first loss.
DHPS U13 Girls A did not play in this round and remains the only unbeaten team in the division.
Christ’s Love strong showing
Christ’s Love had a strong showing in the U15 divisions. Its boys’ and girls’ teams won all their matches on Saturday without dropping a set.
DHPS continued its unbeaten run in both U17 divisions. The boys recorded 2-0 wins over St George’s College, A. Shipena, Admoveo and Sunshine Private College.
The girls beat Delta and Sunshine Private College by the same scoreline.
KSSR chairperson and league coordinator Kudakwashe Mutasa said he was impressed by the standard of play and the number of learners taking part in volleyball.
He thanked the coaches for developing their teams and the parents, referees and schools for supporting the games.
The league continues across all six age and gender divisions.
