Prepare for another thrilling edition of the RMB Off-Road Triathlon, to be held on Sunday, 19 October at Lake Oanob Dam near Rehoboth.
The RMB Off-Road Triathlon, presented by OTB Sport with the generous support of RMB, continues to be one of Namibia’s marquee off-road multisport challenges.
Competitors may select from three distances, each designed to test endurance, technical skill, and strategy across swimming, cycling, and running terrain:
Super Sprint – 300 m swim, 5.6 km cycle, 2.5 km run
Sprint – 600 m swim, 14 km cycle, 4.5 km run
Enduro – 1.1 km swim, 28 km cycle, 8.4 km run
The course at Oanob will deliver a mix of single tracks, jeep roads and undulating terrain.
The Enduro is the first event of the day, starting at 07:00. Participants in the Enduro event are expected to take between 2.5 to three hours on average. The last leg of the run is always tough, especially as the day heats up.
The Sprint will start at 08:00 and the Super Sprint at 08:15.
In the Enduro, 17-year-old Nathan Chase is the overall favourite. Chase is recently back from Italy where he won silver at the XTERRA Youth World Championship. Andrew Rowles is expected to come in second and win the veteran age category. Another athlete that is expected in the top group is Jan-Louis Mostert.

Sprint and Super Sprint
Micah Chase (14 years) enters this year’s Sprint division with high expectations. His elder brother, Nathan, will be contesting in the Enduro this year — freeing the battlefield in the Sprint distances.
Among the male contenders, James Langford is expected to challenge Micah’s dominance. Langford recently excelled in a triathlon in Zimbabwe and is among the few Namibians who could contest for qualification to the 2026 Youth Olympics in Dakar, Senegal.
In the women’s Sprint, a close battle is anticipated between Lillian Kibble (13 years), Kyra Marschall and Lilly Marschall.
In a more whimsical subplot, a father vs. son dynamic may emerge between Greg Chase and Micah Chase, adding some family rivalry to the competitive tone.
In the Super Sprint, Emma Brinkmann is strongly favoured to claim her third successive Super Sprint title (female). Aiden Diehl (12 years) is expected to take the male Super Sprint.
OTB Sport extends heartfelt thanks to RMB for their continued support of Namibian triathlon and specifically for backing this event. Their sustained sponsorship over the years has been pivotal for the sport’s growth. OTB Sport also appreciates the co-operation of Lake Oanob Resort, volunteers, medical teams, and event staff committed to making 2025’s race a success.
The organisers look forward to witnessing a day of fierce competition, personal triumphs, and inspiring performances.
