Stars vs Nampol in NFA Cup semi-final

Two clubs that had a dominating Debmarine Namibia Premiership season will clash in a mouth-watering semi-final of the PstBet NFA Cup.
Khomas Nampol (third in their NPFL debut season) and African Stars (consecutive NPFL champions) both progressed to the semi-final of the prestigeous knockout competition, after surviving the quarter-final weekend at the Oshakati Independence Stadium.
Fortune Eichab, coach of Khomas Nampol said his team is ready to face any opponent in the semi-final.
“It is my first major semi-final, but I must say we are ready to face any team.
“I must give credit for what the players have delivered so far and we look forward to facing the league champions,” Eichab said.
Stars eliminated Tigers by 2-0, while Khomas Nampol ended the campaign of Okahandja United with a 1-0 win on Saturday to set a date with the league champions.
The pair were joined by Eeshoke Chula Chula and Young Brazilians who also booked their places in the last four.
Eeshoke Chula Chula beat Mighty Gunners 1-0 on Sunday, while Young Brazilians progressed to the last four by beating second-division surprise package Oryza Sativa 4-2.
Chula Chula coach John Sikerete said his team has been performing well this season because of their courage and the support they get from Namibian people.
“I think it will be good for football that we will be in the semi-final. It is good that we managed to progress, because that is who we are as a team. People love this team and that is why it is important that we repay the support with such victories,” Sikerete said.

Women’s top four
In the women’s NFA Cup matches, NUST Babes and Okahandja FC opened the day with top action. NUST Babes came out victorious with a 4-2 win.
Okahandja’s goals were scored by Renalda Hangula and Leticia Tjihuno, while NUST Babes replied with goals by Nguvitjita Kahitu, Zakondja, Patricia Uapunduka and Tjeripo Uzera.
In other action on Saturday, Khomas Nampol Ladies beat Arrows Ladies 2-1 courtesy of goals from Helena Shuumbwa and Vekohasana Kamatjipose, while the only goal from Arrows Ladies was scored by Lorraine Jossob.
On Sunday, Ongos Ladies beat Ramblers Ladies 3-0, while Beauties booked their place in the semis with a 2-1 victory over Unam Bokkies.
FC Ongos will face NUST Babes in the semi-final, while Khomas Nampol Ladies and Beauties will determine the other finalist.
