Under-20 provisional squad announced

Players urged to turn up for training
James Britz has called up a provisional squad of players set to report for duty tomorrow.
SPORTS REPORTER
Namibian national under-20 soccer team head coach James Britz announced a provisional squad of 40 players for the 2022 Cosafa Challenge Cup, slated for 6 to 16 October in Eswatini.
Britz, assistant coach Jeremy Zimmer and goalkeeper coach Ephraim Tjihonge attended The Namibian Newspaper Cup to scout for players maturing from the various Governor’s Cups held countrywide and those exhibited as part of their regional teams in the competition's 20th edition.
The scouts searched for young talent, endurance, agility and skill in players who are able to dribble opponents, play one-twos, shield and supply balls from the midfield to strikers who can target an opportunistic spot at goal and score, Britz said.
“I want players who are hungry to learn, players who have some ability with the ball, in all departments of the game. I’m big on development. We have carefully and deliberately selected players who want to play for Namibia, compete at high levels of international football with big and fearless hearts to win."
