Youth soccer tournament excites

The annual Ohlthaver & List (O&L) Ramblers youth soccer tournament took place at Ramblers club, from Friday till Sunday. More than 60 teams took part, from under 7 to under 17.
Harald Hecht, president of Ramblers football club, said: “The idea behind the tournament is just to give these young stars the platform to perform, because they are the future Brave Warriors.
“The turn-out was fantastic, so next year we’ll do it bigger and better again.”
The last game of the day saw Collin Benjamin Soccer Talents (CBS) come up against Athletic Club Football Academy (ACFA) in the U17 finals. One goal was enough for ACFA to be crowned the O&L Ramblers soccer tournament champions of 2023.
Penda Christian, who captained the winning U17 team, said: “A tough game really, but as a team we played well and I am happy with the win! We are the champions!”
Overall winners of the other age groups:
U7, Athletic Club Football Academy (ACFA) win 4-2 (penalties) against DTS.
U9, DTS A 3-1 SKW.
U11, SFC 3-0 SKW.
U13, DTS 3-0 Onaanda.
U15, ACFA win 4-2 (penalties) against DTS.
