Boost for volleyball

Over the past decade, Bank Windhoek has invested over N$2 million in supporting the Namibian Volleyball Federation’s (NVF) tournaments, according to the bank’s Bronwyn Moody.
The bank recently announced an additional N$460000 sponsorship for NVF’s annual volleyball events, emphasising its commitment to sports development in Namibia.
Moody highlighted the growth of volleyball and expressed pride in contributing to the sport's success. The sponsorship supports key tournaments like the annual Doc Tournament, NVF Cup, and Beach Volleyball Open, attracting both local and international players.
Liina Matheus from the NVF’s Executive Team acknowledged Bank Windhoek's vital role in keeping volleyball alive in Namibia, enabling the federation to allocate limited resources to volleyball development. The bank's sponsorships have facilitated the participation of clubs from different regions, creating employment opportunities for Namibian youth in institutions like the Namibian Police, Defence Force, and Correctional Services.
Matheus thanked Bank Windhoek for their continued support, noting their assistance in times of financial constraints for development projects.
Finally, Moody wished the NVF success in their upcoming tournaments, anticipating exciting volleyball action in the year ahead.
The dates and venues for the tournaments will be announced by the NVF in due course.
