Cohen 1, SKW eye titles at National Cup Tournament
The African Marketing Fistball National Cup Tournament returns to Swakopmund on Saturday at the SFC grounds, marking the finale of the 2025 season. The competition will be contested in two categories, with reigning champions Cohen 1 entering Category A as clear favourites after winning all seven tournaments held this year. In Category B, SKW 3 will aim to secure the national cup following four consecutive victories.
Category A features two teams each from CFC and SKW, alongside one team from hosts SFC, competing in a round-robin format. The top four teams will advance to the semi-finals.
In their last two clashes, SFC 1 narrowly lost to the serial champions from the capital, CFC 1. Playing on home soil, SFC will be determined to break the capital team’s dominance and lift the national cup for the first time since 2011. CFC 1, meanwhile, hopes to add another trophy to their remarkable haul, having won ten of the last eleven national cups.
Category B will see SKW field a team alongside two teams from SFC and two teams from the extended national women’s squad.
Following the final, a prize-giving ceremony will honour standout performers. As tradition dictates, the Fistball Association of Namibia will present the Player of the Day award, along with Player of the Year trophies for men, women and youth, and the MVP trophy for Category B.
All extended national team squads will hold a training session on Sunday, while the annual general meeting of the Fistball Association is scheduled for 2 December at the SKW Kiosk, during which a new board will be elected.
