Dancing all the way to Spain
The Namibian Sports Commission awarded national colours to the national dance sports team on Tuesday during a farewell ceremony at its head office in the capital.The national Dance Sport Namibia (DSN) team left for Spain yesterday on their way to the Barcelona International Dance Competition, which takes place from Saturday until Tuesday.
In the competition, 15 countries and 190 athletes compete in four disciplines such as hip-hop, ethnic, contemporary and musical dance. In total, Namibia has 19 athletes (dancers between nine and 44 years old) and two officials who are accompanying the team.
The team members are Alicia Allies, Mia Barkhuizen, Clara Ebbenzeiner, Walter Burger, Carla Celliers, Elizabeth de Klerk, Ume Goldbeck, Mbinaje Katjatenja, Mareli Kotze, Chanelle Liebenberg, Louise Obbes, Yana Oosthuizen, Emma Schaefer and Alyna Swarts.
