Excitement builds national netball playoffs
The 2025 Capricorn Netball League continues to produce exhilarating battles as the national playoffs approach in August.Now in its ninth year, and under the sponsorship of the Capricorn Group, the tournament is in full swing, displaying Namibia’s great talent and competitive spirit of young netball players.
With only a few weeks left before the national playoffs, the league is providing exciting matches and impressive performances. The league features 85 teams from 30 state and private schools across regions, including Khomas, //Kharas, Hardap, Otjozondjupa, Kunene, Oshikoto, Omaheke, and Erongo.
The Namibia Schools Sport Union (NSSU) endorses the league, which includes age categories from U/12 to U/19.
“The Capricorn Schools Netball League is more than just a competition. It is a platform for growth, teamwork, and excellence. We are proud to see how the League continues to uplift schools' netball and contribute to youth development in Namibia,” said Marlize Horn, Group Executive: Chief Brand & Corporate Affairs Officer at Capricorn Group. “The strong competition and good sportsmanship shown reflect the League’s goal of promoting netball in Namibia.”
“We are thrilled with the progress of the 2025 season so far. The level of play and commitment from the teams is inspiring. We look forward to an exciting conclusion next month,” said Liezel Garbers, Chairperson of the Capricorn Schools Netball League.
